Father's Day meals for every kind of dad

With a little over 2 weeks from Father’s Day (Sunday 16 June), we’ve been thinking about these special men in our lives. When it comes to celebrating the Dads in your family, is there any better way than a gathering of loved ones and their favourite food (and someone else cooks)?

CiD’s dining concierge has curated some made-to-measure restaurant recommendations to spoil these exceptional humans, and has shared her top picks to suit different tastes.

For the Dad who loves a burger

When top chefs are asked on the Instagram hit Top Jaw where to go for London’s best burger, a handful of names come up regularly and one is Fallow. Centrally located in Haymarket, there are two ‘aged dairy cow’ burgers on offer - one extra meaty with short rib and bacon. Alternative tastes are catered for with their Sunday roast and Plant or Sea plates. With a conscious ethos, Fallow took home GQ’s ‘Sustainable Restaurant of the Year’ in 2022.

For the Dad who loves a pub

Known for offering the best roast in the area, Stoke Newington’s The Londesborough is a long-standing family favourite. Stretch your collective legs after the meal with a stroll around gorgeous Clissold Park - there’s usually an ice cream van by the gates if the weather is fine!

For the foodie Dad

If you’re catering for a Dad with a taste for the finer things in a relaxed atmosphere, he will love Caravel - an intimate restaurant in a converted barge in Islington. Enjoy indulgent Potato Rösti, topped with Sour Cream and Caviar; Sesame Prawn Toast served with Chilli Jam; Mussel, Chilli and Fennel Tagliatelle with Bottarga; and Venison Haunch, Pressed Potato and Wild Garlic. Caravel also offers a unique drinks menu with new spins on classic cocktails such as a Strawberry Negroni.

For the art loving Dad

Combine your Dad’s love of art on the walls and a masterpiece on the plate with a visit to the National Portrait Gallery, followed by lunch at renowned Irish chef Richard Corrigan’s most recent opening, The Portrait. Located on the building’s top floor there are picture windows with views to die for. The menu features the best of British and Irish produce in hearty, comforting classics like Braised Rabbit Tagliatelle and Fillet of Beef served with Crisp Potato, Spinach and Peppercorn Sauce.

@CiD clients, we’re standing by to book your table at the perfect spot. As always just send a task on the Delegate phone app or on your CiD team WhatsApp group and we’ll make all the arrangements for a wonderful Father’s Day.
