Truffles for Change: A Culinary Competition with heart

We are thrilled to share news of a fantastic event in support of one of CiD’s favourite charities, StreetSmart, who work tirelessly raising money to combat homelessness across the UK.

This October, StreetSmart is teaming up with Lina Stores in King’s Cross for their first-ever Truffle Cook-Off.

Taking place on Tuesday, 29th October from 6pm, this exclusive event will bring together some of London’s top chefs, each presenting their own signature truffle dish in a friendly culinary showdown. Here’s a sneak peek at the talented chefs who’ll be cooking for you:

  • Jamie Shears, Executive Chef at The Audley, Mayfair

  • Lewis de Haas, Executive Chef at Crispin Restaurants

  • Tom Booton, Head Chef at The Grill by Tom Booton

  • Ana da Costa, known for her inventive Macanese, Portuguese, and Chinese dishes

  • Budgie Montoya, the mastermind behind Filipino BBQ restaurant APOY

  • Jane Alty, co-owner of The Begging Bowl, Peckham’s beloved Thai restaurant

The winner of the coveted Best Truffle Dish will be chosen by a star-studded judging panel, including David Ellis, Professor Green, Richard Vines, Tom Parker Bowles, Trevor Gulliver from St John, along with Masha Rener, Head Chef at Lina Stores, and Kimberley Coke from StreetSmart.

With tickets at £55 per person, (and only a few remaining), to include a 6 course meal with wine, plus the opportunity to vote for your favourite dish and be part of the judging process, it promises to be a riot of an evening!

This special dinner will also feature a raffle with prizes including a meal for two at Lina Stores King’s Cross, their signature pasta bowls, and surprises from fellow restaurateurs.

What’s even better is that all proceeds from the evening will be donated to StreetSmart, supporting their vital work in providing food, shelter, and long-term solutions for people facing homelessness across the UK.

You can book tickets direct with Lina Stores HERE, or ask your CiD PA team.

Can’t make it to the event? Supporting StreetSmart couldn't be easier.

Simply book a meal out in the run up to Christmas at one of the many participating restaurants. Or keep an eye out for the StreetSmart logo on menus or table cards whenever you’re eating out, where a voluntary £1 donation will be added to your bill, directly contributing to this incredible cause.
